Q1) In the bracketed passage I can infer that Zaroff was basically born a hunter. His father was a wealthy man who gave him a gun specially made for him, that Zaroff shot turkeys with. Since Zaroff received the gun and made his first kill he was fascinated in hunting.

1) Zaroff is the type of guy that's passionate and determine of what he loves, like hunting. He had grown up loving hunting since he was five years old and never got tired of it. "I have hunted every kind of game in every land. It would be impossible for me to tell you how many animals I have killed." Its almost as if he's rewarding himself for every hunting experience he went on throughout his life. He somehow believe going on the hunt for the most dangerous animals in the world and killing them, make himself more of man or even a legend.

Q1; when reading page 99 I can infer that zariff waas that his dad picked the road for zariff because at the age of 5 zariff already had a gun and from that he got used to shooting and if zariff killed the fathers turkey the dad wouldnt complain he would support him meaning thats the road he wants for his son. Since he was indeed a rich kid the father wanted his son to participate in something very similar to him. so basically the general had a passion since he was 5 years old.

Q1. The paragraph in the brackets give us a idea on the sort of person that Zaroff is. We can say infer or say that hunting is in his blood because since he was five, he was trained to be a killer by hunting or shooting animals. This small obsession we can say started when he was five when his father gave him his first gun, zaroff then went on to use the gun to shoot a turkey, he didn't get punished for crime but praised . From this very movement we can say that is what started his obsession with hunting because he may look for the praise afterwards after a hard kill. Once Zaroff had a taste of killing from a kid , his thirst never stopped .

1) What you can infer about Zarrof from the information on page 99 are he was born to a rich family and he was born to hunt. As a young person Zarrof killed his first bear at the age of 10 which is really impressive and also shows he is a skilled hunter and a natural born killer.

Question 1:You can infer that zaroff has a deep deep passion for hunting and killing in general. He believes that god himself made zaroff to hunt and that his hand was made to pull the trigger. He was a childhood prodigy killing a bear when he was ten and joined the army as soon as he could. He stated that he hunted so much that "it would be be impossible to count" From this you can infer that he is a bloodthirsty individual and probably has no mercy.

Question 1 : According to the bracketed passage on page 99 you can infer that Zaroff is a very passionate person about his skill and also a bit cocky. In the passage Zaroff says " God makes some men poets. Some He makes kings , some beggars. Me He made me a hunter." he feels like he was to chosen to hunt animals. All Zaroff knows is how to hunt every since the age of five. He killed his first bear when he was only ten years old , not something an average ten year old boy would do.

Question 2 : The conflict that keeps Rainsford up throughout the night is both internal and external. The conflict is internal because he keeps thinking about the conversation him and the General Zaroff had about hunting humans as men. The conflict is external as well because Rainsford is in fear that Zaroff is coming in to the room where is given to sleep. He is fearful that the General will try to come into his room and hunt him because he doesn't want to play "the hunted game".

I can infer about Zaroff that he is professional at hunting and enjoys it a lot. In the story he explains how God chooses people for certain roles. He believes he was born to hunt basically. He says, " When i was only five years old he gave me a little gun, specially made in Moscow for me, to shoot sparrows with." Since young he was a hunter, and is his biggest interest.

Question 2: I believe the conflict is internal. This is because Rainsford is fighting his sleep due to his crazy thoughts. Not saying that he is insane, but he was fighting with himself, not being able to sleep was his fault. He shouldnt have let the Generals words get to him so strong. He shouldnt have been worried about Zaroff trying to hunt or kill him.

Based on the bracketed portion in the packet i can tell that Zaroff is a born hunter. From a young age he was trained to kill animals and that's all he really knows that's why he has so strong of a passion for it. Zaroff apparently grew up in a care free home since it states that his father gave him a specially made gun from Moscow at the age of 5. I would say that his household lacked a sense of responsibility but this might be normal in the country or environment he grew up in. Based on the information it also shows that Zarrof loves the thrill of killing an animal because he says he couldn't possibly tell you how much animals he killed.

Q1. Based on the information in the bracket on page 99, one can infer that the foundation and the passion of the general's life is hunting. All he has ever wanted to do or has done in his life has involved taking life from another living being. It almost seems like a coping mechinism; he kills things to fill a void. Zaroff speaks of nothing but hunting. His childhood seems to been stripped of its innocence when he was handed a gun at the age of 5. Now it is affecting he mental state; he craves to hunt humans because humans can think and stratigize instead of fully going on instinct. The fact that he gives them food and one weapon is just something he uses to help him justify his activity and sleep at night.

1. What the bracketed passage on page 99 can infer about Zaroff from the information in the passage is that he is explaining how everyone gets a talent for life from God. Every person is free and can decides on what they want to do for the rest of their lives. Zaroff specifies how he, as a little kid, his dad gave him a little gun and he killed a turkey. He started to built confidence and felt something special about killing animals and hunting at an early age. This shows that hunting was made for him because now as an adult, he loves practicing this dangerous job in the forest.

Q1) Based off of the bracketed paragraph I can infer that general Zaroff is a natural born hunter. In the paragraph they state that at the age of 5 he was give a gun by his father specially made for him. Naturally he grew up shooting all the animals in sight he even caught up to his father, who probably also grew up hunting, in just a few short years. All Zaroff knows is to hunt nothing about him says otherwise

Q1. Zaroff is one of those guys who didn't have friends growing up because he looked mean and tough. It seemed like his father molded him into his little puppet an zaroff himself is a very strange man. He has deluded himself into thinking his way is the best way and it really isn't. It seems that all he knows is hunting and all he cares about is hunting and it started at a very young age.

1.I can infer that Zaroff grew up in a "killing environment". I say this because at a very young age, he was actually encouraged to go out and kill. For example in the outlined text he says, "When I was only five years old, he gave me a little gun,.."
