So far we have seen different relationships throughout the play. Choose two examples of both external and internal conflicts. ( for example Iago and Othello).

I totally agree with you because this second act shows hatred, love, but also racism. Internal conflicts in the book can be shown as teh misconception, or mistrust between Othello and Iago. Also, the external conflict in thsi book is best described as racism, or different types of authority because of color.

In Othello there are a lot conflicts however there is a lot of conflict between Lago and Cassio because he is accusing Cassio of sleeping with is wife and othello wife Desdemona. He accuses her of being unfaithful because of their close relationship. Lago is also jealous of the person Cassio is of being kind, liked by the people, lieutenant and a women's man. Lago own insecurities of himself he pushes off on to other people by trying to break up marriages or destroy public images.

It also shows how Lago is pushing his mistrust for his wife on Othello and Desdemona's relationship by calling her unfaithful to him. He thinks since Othello is a cheater then his wife must be too.

I agree with you because the points you brought up from the play perfectly describe the internal and external conflict that's currently happening. Another external point you could of brought up is the fact that Othello was being harshly judged for his skin tone and his race.

An example of external conflict is shown between Desdemona and Barbantio. Barbantio feels a great deal of betrayal from his daughter because she went behind his back to have love. What makes it worse for him is that Othello is a man of color and he found out from a jealous ex-boyfriend, Roderigo, and Iago and not from her when it happened. Now he lacks trust in his daughter.

External Conflict: Othello's race is an external conflict because people are going against his relationship with Desdemona.

I agree with you, but you have to expand the thoughts on how this affected the people and how bad was it, how is Iago blaming him and making him look bad ?

In Othello many internal and external conflicts are shown throughout the play. Two examples of external conflict is when brabantio is completely turned against the idea that his daughter desdemona is marrying a black man and is not satisfied with his cultural differences.

An example of a internal conflict is jealousy. The character that displays this trait is Rodrigo he is jealous of Desdemona relationship with her new husband Iago. he was mad she didn't choose him for a husband so he wanted to ruin her happiness.Another example was when Iago was jealous of Cassio.

Throughout the play Othello is when Othello is criticized because of his race. Othello is black and Desdemona father feels that he is not superior to all the other men. Desdemona was suppose to marry all the other men that her father thought was handsome. With that decision Othello and Desdemona had to move because of his physical skin color.

Iago's jealousy is an example of internal conflict. In the play, Iago was accusing everybody for sleeping with his wife. He claimed Othello slept with Emilia, then he claimed Cassio did also. This was an internal conflict of Iago vs himself fighting about his wifes loyalty.

Iago had dealt with both external and internal conflicts , I say this because externally he was dealing with taking orders from Othello. (Othello was considered the general.) On top of Iago assuming Othello had sexual intercourse with his wife, he was in general very envious of Othello.Which is why he was also dealing with internal issues, Iago I believe was kind of unsure/ insecure of himself. Not only was he accusing Othello of all these things, but also others around him. He wasn't just happy with himself or anyone else.
