First of all, A Raisin in the Sun have crucial similarities with Daeth of a Salesman becasue both books are based on the American Dream. In A Raisin in the Sun, Ruth, and Linda from Death of a Salesman are both wives. They struggle a lot because they don't want to accept that theitr standard of living isin't good. They are both patient, love their family, specially their husbands. They would do whatever it takes to make their family happy. Also, Biff and Beneatha are similar because they are grown-ups who have realized that if they work hard and have an education, they will succed in society. However, they both have type of family members who are just interested in money, but dont find happiness.

In both plays the protagonist is trying to achieve the American dream, but it is near impossible when neither of them has the respect of their superiors or the people around them. The odds are stacked against them as they try to achieve greatness for themselves and their family.

Both plays share a role of family issues, where one in the family would either sacrifice or take a time to make another do better. The characters in Death of Salesman are originally middle class family, where one is successful and another who is still questioning what his potential are. A Raisin in the Sun are middle class family as well but believe that the way society is set up, it makes the whiter folks better.

In both Death of a Salesman and A Raisin the Sun it portrayed similarities between and income. In A Raisin in the Sun Mama is given this check that everyone wants, Walter wants it for a liquor business, Beneatha secretly desires it for medical school while Mama wants a house with a backyard for Travis to play in. So far in the book the main conflict seems to be the crave everyone has for this large amount of money such as the conflict in Death of A Salesman where they seek the American dream and all the wealth that comes along with it, in both books the characters revolve around money.

Both A Raisin in the Sun and Death of Salesman has crucial similarities and one of the similarities is, they have similar themes. One theme they have in common is you have to put family before your own goals. In Death of a Salesman, Willy had a dream/goal of becoming a wealthy person once again and he made this his highest priority. Although Willy was not wrong to pursue his dream, in doing so, he neglected his family and this caused a turmoil in his family

The First similarity they share is the fact that both are centered solely around the husbands financial state. In death of a salesman the kids were getting jobs so they could help support the home. In raisin In The Sun they are dependent on the income of their fathers insurance check due to this death. They both are in a financial hole the Lomans were borrowing money just to get by on a day to day basis. The Youngers were also tight for money they lived in a cramped space that had barely enough room for them. The Youngers also had to borrow stuff from their neighbors to get by as well.

A Raisin in the Sun is similar to Death of a Salesman because both books focus on struggling times of a family around the 1950's. In A Raisin in the Sun, there is a family consisting of Mama, Beneatha, Walter, Ruth and Travis struggling on a low budget, to the point where 50 cents was denied to Ruth and Walters son Travis. In Death of a Salesman, Linda, Willy, Biff and Happy are somewhat struggling too. Willy thought he would get way more money than he was getting, and be able to pay all bills and mortgages and etc. However this did not occur, he died before he was able to pay off all of his debts. Both books focus on struggling times during the 1950's.

The American dream has been inspiring to many people especially back in the day for black family's. In both Death of a Salesman and in A Raisin In The Sun. we meet two very similar family that want to strive for success. Biff and beneatha are more open-minded characters that understand that anything that is worked for in life will pay off and it is always possible to achieve greatness. Even though they are on the right track and focus on the correct things its not easy for them because of the way there family is about things.Ruth and linda can be put in the same category they were women that didn't like their standard of living and wanted better for themselves. there amazingly loving to there husband and are willing to stick through anything with them.

Both plays are based on the theme of achieving the American Dream. In the case of Death of a Salesman, Willy Loman always wanted to achieve the dream by finding the easy way out. He chose to be a salesman because he thought it would be an easy way make a lot of money and be a traditional representation of what an american family should look like. With A Raisin in the Sun, Walter Lee wants to own a business so he can say as an American Man, he owns something and can have something to show for his life. But he lacks money and support so he isn't able to do the things that he wants.

Both a Raisin In The Sun and a Death Of A Salesman are very similar in the fact that it mostly revolves around the husbands Walter ( A Raisin In The Sun ) and Willy ( Death of a Salesman ). Both families had a lot of financial problems so it was very hard to get by putting a lot of pressure on the men. Willy went to any means to try to provide money for his family even though it was conflicting with his health while Walter is trying to use the money from Mamas check to do what he think would bring them even more money after.
