Walter and Willy from Death of a Salesman have the same mentality of not showing to thier sons and daughthers that they don't have a lot of money. Both novels are in contrast going with the American Dream, to get better and work to buy a better house, be stable. Also, Ruth and Mama are similar to Linda in Deatrh of A Salesman because they are outgoing, careful about their needs. They are all women, who have struggled, but are always loyal to their husbands, and family.

Beneatha is a very ambitious and graceful young lady. She has goals and she someday want pursue those goals. Beneatha remind me of Nettie from the Color Purple, mainly b/c both ladies have pride and stand fro what they believe in. Another character from the Raisin in the Sun is Walter he has dream but its very difficult for him to pursue them. Because life is hard on him, he feels as though his son will be the one to uplift the family. Walter reminds me of Willy Loman from Death of a Salesman b/c he puts so much value through his son to be successful in life.

In the play "A Raisin in the Sun", one character that is similar to Ruth is Celie in the Color Purple. These two characters are similar because they both know they can't be successful or get a better life. Both characters just accept the fact that they are going to have to keep living the life they are living. Another two characters that are similar are Sofia and Walter Lee because these characters are always looking a way to be somebody in life. They both try to find a way to achieve their goals or get what they want.

In the play, A Raisin in the Sun, Walter Younger is similar to Willy Loman from Death of a Salesman and Ruth Younger is similar to Sofia from The Color Purple. Walter is similar to Willy in a sense that he still has dreams that he hasn't tried to fulfill and still expects that he will someday. Also, he refuses to let his son, Travis, believe that they're so poor that he can't even give him 50 cents for school. He'd rather let his son have the illusion that they are a hard working family with money than the reality that they are a hard working family living in poverty during the 50s or 60s. Ruth is similar to Sofia after she was forced to be a maid for the mayor's wife. She's tired, she just wants things to work out fine, nothing more and nothing less. Ruth just hopes for things to turn out fine and normal. That's why when Walter would talk about his dreams, she would tell him to eat his eggs just so he wouldn't discourage himself. It's not that she doesn't like listening to his dreams, it's just that she's tired of listening to him talking about his dreams and he doesn't take his own step forward to make them happen.

Walter from "A Raisin in the Sun" and Willy from "Death of a Salesman" both have similarities. Walter and Willy both have a son and they both have high expectations for their son. Both fathers want to achieve the American Dream, but since they can't do that because of their life struggles, they put a burden on their son, hoping they'll be the one to achieve it. You can think of these books as the White/Black version (no racism intended).

Walter Lee Younger is a dreamer and wants to be rich and have the idea of the american dream. He wants to have money plus success and devises plans to make it happen with his friends. Walter is similar to Willy Lorman in Death of a Salesman because Willy has the idea or goal of having the American dream and being rich and success.

A Raisin in the Sun characters are similar to the characters in Death Of A Salesman. Willy to me represents Walter because both have big hopes and dreams. Also I see the theme of the American Dream portrayed in both characters.Mam in The Raisin and The Sun represents the wife of Willy Loman. I think they are similar because both are naive and have the best interest of the family.

Walter and Willy from Death of A Salesmen are highly similar to the main characters from A Raisin in the Sun. Just like their parents who don't want show their kids how poor they actually are they, so they can continue to strive to live a good life "the american dream". Also both fathers have high expectations for their sons to succeed in life.

A Raisin In the sun is a play that is very similar to Death of a Salesman. Where both of the main characters from both plays willy and Walter have basically the same mindset because they want to follow the american dream in living better lives and giving more to his kids. In both plays life isn't the easiest thing. They all work for things they want or even get to obtain. Ruth from a raisin in the sun is similar to celie from the color purple because they both feel like they cant be successful and live a better life.

Walter Lee Younger is similar to Willy Loman from The Death of a Salesman. They are similar because both the men from the plays envision them living another lifestyle that can also be considered the American Dream. Walter wants to own a liquor store with Beneatha that needed $30 thousand for the initial investment fee. Meanwhile Travis, walters son, was denied 50 cents from his mother one morning. Willy Loman is also a big dreamer. He planned on being debt free and acknowledged everywhere, but he was living decades behind of reality before his life ended.

In A Raisin in the Sun Walter Lee and Willy Loman from Death of a Salesman are very similar people. They both have goals to be their own boss and own their own business. They want live wealthy. Like when Walter says “ No--It was always money, Mama. we just didn't know about it”. I think this shows the eagerness and anxiety that Walter feels toward making money like willy did. Lena from A Raisin in the Sun is similar to Linda from Death of a Salesman because they both support their husbands and want their family to be happy. Lena's dream of having a home for her family is her driving force.
